One held for selling prescription drugs illegally in Samayapuram

Trichy: Samayapuram police arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly selling prescription drugs to college students to get a high.The accused, identified as R Muruganandham from Thalakudi Muthamizh Nagar in Lalgudi taluk, was detained following a tip-off. A police team led by Inspector Dasarathan and Sub-Inspector Kavitha conducted a search near the Samayapuram toll plaza, where Muruganandham's behavior raised suspicion. Upon questioning, it was revealed that he was illegally selling prescription drugs to students and minors.Muruganandham was arrested and charged with selling adulterated drugs and violating the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act, 2015. An investigation is ongoing to identify his supplier.
