Trichy: Ordnance Factory Tiruchirappalli (OFT) launched a series of welfare activities to enhance the well-being of underprivileged residents in Palanganangudi village near Thiruverumbur on Friday.
OFT, a unit ofAdvanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL), is carrying out these initiatives in partnership with the World Community Service Centre (WCSC) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. The activities include organising medical camps, distributing nutritional kits, conducting de-addiction camps, and implementing various programmes for women's empowerment.

Sanjay Shrivastava, IOFS, chief general manager of OFT, underscored the importance of CSR in promoting inclusive growth and fostering stronger connections between industry and the local community.
OFT donated sewing machines to selected beneficiaries and distributed 300 tree saplings to the villagers. The representatives also urged the community to adopt green practices and take greater responsibility for ecological conservation.
