Voter awareness programmes held in Trichy

Trichy: A series of voter awareness programmes were conducted at the district collectorate campus on Wednesday in connection with the assembly election. These were organised as part of the systematic voters' education and electoral participation (SVEEP) programme to emphasise the importance of exercising the right to vote. Participants took part in a rangoli competition, creating designs carrying messages on voter awareness and democratic responsibility.The district collector signed a voter awareness banner while members of women's self-help groups chipped in with rangoli art to convey slogans promoting 100% voter turnout. A voter awareness pledge was administered to more than 500 participants, including govt officials and self-help group members. A voter awareness rally, flagged off from the collectorate, proceeded to the central bus stand, with participants carrying placards bearing slogans such as ‘We will vote without fail' and ‘Voting is your right.'
