Vasanthan was on the verge of losing consciousness from the blow to his jaw. The robbers snatched his mobile phone and fled the scene on a bike, leaving him bleeding. Despite his injuries, Vasanthan gathered enough strength to make it to the back to his house and contact his colleagues.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Session’s Court police station, which falls under the purview of the Trichy city police.
Woraiyur police recorded a similar incident on Tuesday evening, in which three people pushed S Rajesh Kannan's 47-year-old wife to the ground and snatched 12 sovereigns of gold ornaments from her as she walked near Vedha Avenue in Subramaniya Nagar on Kuzhumani Road.
