Trichy: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president and actor Vijay is scheduled to meet and interact with party functionaries from the eight assembly constituencies in Thanjavur district at Ayyasamipatti on Wednesday. The Thanjavur district police granted permission for the event, subject to 52 conditions.
The meeting is set to take place in an open area covering ten acres at Ayyasamipatti near Sengipatti from 10am to 3pm. Around 4,900 functionaries from the district are expected to participate.
On Feb 28, TVK functionaries submitted a request to hold the meeting to district superintendent of police R Rajaram. Thiruvaiyaru deputy superintendent of police J Arulmozhi Arasu inspected the site on Monday. During the visit, he sought and obtained detailed information about basic amenities, vehicle parking arrangements, and other related aspects. After receiving satisfactory responses and necessary assurances from the party, Arulmozhi granted permission for the meeting on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, TVK functionaries conducted a ground-breaking ceremony (bhoomi puja) at the site. General secretary N Anand also inspected the preparation work.
