Two youths assaulted by weapons near college

Trichy: Two youth were allegedly assaulted by a group near a private college on Vayalur Road in Trichy on Tuesday.The injured include a current college student and a college dropout, while the suspects are also students, according to police sources.The assault allegedly took place outside the college premises near Puthur, when a group of four individuals confronted the two youths and attacked them with dangerous weapons before fleeing the scene.The incident caused panic among the public and students in the area. The injured youths were rushed to Trichy govt hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment and reported to be in stable condition.Senior police officials questioned the college management, staff, and some students as part of their preliminary investigation.Speaking to TOI, a senior police official stated that they are probing the motive behind the attack, any possible conspiracy, and the use of weapons in the vicinity of the college.
