While he was at home on Monday evening, the farmer developed chest pain and vomited blood. Subsequently he was rushed to a private hospital in

and referred to

Thanjavur Government Medical College Hospital

but he died on the way to the hospital. Rajakumaran is survived by wife R Jayalaxmi and two daughters.

Another farmer, P Marimuthu, who was residing opposite Rajakumarans house, also died of heart attack on Tuesday. He was reportedly upset at his friend Rajakumaran's death and swooned and died at his house. He had raised samba paddy on six acres located beside the land of Rajakumaran and that too was in a withered state. He is survived by wife M Sellammal, and a daughter and a son.
