In his complaint, the victim M Shanmuganthan, 77, said that Kaliyamoorthi approached him in 2016 with the promise of getting his son, Sreenivasan, the job of a ward boy through Seetharaman. Shanmuganathan obtained loans from three banks and gave Rs 3.5 lakh to Kaliyamoorthi in 2016. However, he was hired as a labour at GH and paid only Rs 6,000. After doing that job for a month, Sreenivasan left the job, after which Shanmuganathan asked Kaliyamoorthi and Seetharaman to either get him the promised job or return the money.
Even after three years when Kaliyamoorthi and Seetharaman failed to get his son a job, Shanmuganathan approached Pudukottai town police station. After verifying the complaint, police filed an FIR against the duo and are carrying an investigation.
Shanmuganathan said that both Seetharaman and Kaliyamoorthi had colluded to cheat him. “Initially, they offered my son a job in the GH as a labourer. They told me that my son has been hired on a temporary basis and soon he will be regularized. But I was shocked to find out that his monthly salary was just Rs 6,000. They kept on evading for three years forcing me to take the legal route,” he said.
We have been paying interest of Rs 7,000 for the bank loan availed. But neither did my son get a job nor we could get the money back, he said. tnn
