Two arrested for possession of unaccounted gold

Trichy: The Trichy city police arrested two people in separate incidents for possession of gold worth 4.1 lakh and Rs 2.7 lakh respectively without valid documents near the Trichy International Airport on Wednesday.
The Airport police during its patrol found a man standing in a suspicious manner in the bus stop. Police interrogated him and found 83.156g of gold jewellery worth 4.1 lakh with him.Police identified the man as M Rajendran, 43, of Thiruppathur in Sivaganga district. He did not have valid documents for the gold. So, police seized the jewellery and arrested him. He was released on bail later.
The same night the team found another man moving in a suspicious manner. Police identified him as B Venkatesan, 46, of Manjakollai in Nagapattinam district. He was in possession of 55.1g of gold chains with him. TNN
