Senthil Balaji to appear before CBI on March 17

Karur: A day after denying reports of receiving summons from CBI in connection with the Karur stampede case, former minister and Karur MLA V Senthil Balaji on Tuesday confirmed that he has received a communication to appear before the agency.In a post on X, Balaji said he had been asked to appear before the CBI on March 17 and added that there were contradictory reports in sections of the media regarding the summons. He said that he would cooperate with the agency and respond to all questions during the inquiry. This comes amid the ongoing CBI investigation into the stampede that occurred during a political meeting addressed by TVK chief Vijay in Karur on Sept 27 last year. A total of 41 people were killed and more than 100 others were injured in it.
