Saudi currency notes worth Rs 8.44L seized
Trichy: A passenger, who raised suspicion by the way he was looking around at Trichy airport, was arrested after he was found to be carrying foreign currencies worth Rs 8.44 lakh. The Kula Lumpur-bound passenger was identified as Naseer Khan, of Chennai.
Customs said they grew suspicious as the way Naseer was behaving as he was about to board Air Asia flight.

The flight arrived at Trichy airport from Malaysia. When the Customs officials examined his belongings, they found that he had concealed foreign currencies in his bag.
When questioned, he revealed that he was planning to fly over to Kuala Lumpur. Customs confiscated Saudi riyal worth Rs 8.44 lakh stashed away in denominations of 500 Riyal. Customs said further investigation is on to find the source of the money.
