Trichy: Thanjavur-based SASTRA Deemed University and Hyderabad-based Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) have signed a memorandum of understanding (
MoU) to promote capacity building, research and training.
The MoU was signed during SASTRA's 25th University Day celebrations, where TASL executive director Masood Hussainy attended as guest of honour. In his address, he expressed commitment to a long-term partnership and lauded the university's growth and focus on capacity building.
Commissioner of Income Tax J Premanad, also present, praised the institution's social outreach initiatives and urged students to apply their problem-solving skills to address societal challenges.
Vice-chancellor Dr S Vaidhyasubramaniam, presenting the annual report for 2025-26, highlighted key achievements, including research and consultancy projects worth Rs 120 crore, publication of over 1,200 papers, and more than 3,900 job offers from 247 recruiters. Infrastructure additions worth Rs 160 crore and social outreach projects valued at Rs 6 crore were also noted.
Best outgoing student awards across disciplines were presented during the event.
