Panjapur to host PM rally on Mar 11

Trichy: BJP and other NDA allies, including AIADMK and AMMK, on Wednesday conducted panthakkaal ceremony at Panjapur for the alliance's election campaign rally to be attended by PM Narendra Modi on Mar 11. About 30 acres of land on the Trichy-Madurai NH was identified for the campaign.BJP general secretary Karuppu Muruganandham and representatives from AIADMK, including Trichy urban district secretary J Srinivasan, participated. BJP sources said around 5 lakh people were expected to attend. Union minister of state for I&B L Murugan said the Prime Minister would reach the venue around 4pm on Mar 11. "NDA will sweep the election; people are prepared to elect us and send DMK home. Only NDA can provide a double engine govt. People of Tamil Nadu know how prosperous the govt of former CM Edappadi K Palaniswami was between 2016 and 2021," Murugan said at Trichy airport.To a question on the possibility of inducting the new party floated by expelled AIADMK leader V K Sasikala into NDA, Murugan said NDA chairperson Amit Shah would take a call on it.
