Nine-year-old girl raped

TRICHY: A 45-year-old man was arrested in the evening on Thursday by the all women police at Manapparai in Trichy district for raping a nine year old girl. The girl was admitted to Mahatma Gandhi memorial government hospital in Trichy for treatment.
N Mayilsamy, 45 a resident of Nathampudhur near Manapparai was accused of raping a nine year old girl residing in another village near Manapprai on Wednesday.The girl was studying fourth standard in a private school in Pannapatti. Mayilsamy who was known to her family came to the school on Wednesday. He asked permission from her class teacher to take the girl with him as her mother wanted to meet her immediately. But the class teacher tried to contact the girl's mother over phone to confirm his statement. Unfortunately, she cannot be contacted. Later, the girl said that she knew Mayilsamy. So, the teacher sent her with him. An hour later, he came to the school and left her there. He said the teachers that her mother asked him to leave her at the school. In the evening, the girl returned home and explained to her mother about the misconduct of Mayilsamy. So, her mother lodged a complaint on Thursday with the all women police station, Manapparai saying that her daughter was raped. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered under section 376 of IPC and 6 of prevention of children from sexual offences Act, 2012. The girl was undergoing treatment at MGMGH.
On Thursday evening, the police arrested Mayilsamy and kept him in the lock-up late on Thursday.
