The first service was launched by municipal administration minister K N Nehru.

Six new daily services will be operated from the arrival lounge of the airport with Central bus stand, Srirangam, and No 1 tollgate.

TNSTC Trichy said that the bus timings were scheduled based on the arrivals and departures at the international airport.

Apart from the passengers, as a sizeable number of workers and shopkeepers in the airport vicinity are also in need of the public transport at odd hours, TNSTC has included a night bus service connecting Central bus stand, the city's mofussil bus hub, with the integrated passenger terminal of the airport.

The night service bus would leave the Central bus stand at 00.15am and arrive at the airport by 00.30am. The return service would depart from the airport at 00.45am and reach the Central bus stand by 1am.

The night service bus will halt at TVS tollgate, Mannarpuram, and Trichy railway junction bus stops to help air passengers reach their native places in central and southern districts.

Four other services will also be operated every day from the integrated terminal of the airport to Srirangam (7.45am) and No 1 tollgate 5 pm) hubs during peak hours.

The services would interconnect Thillai Nagar, Chathiram bus stand and Thiruvanaikoil bus stop.

“Based on the response, we would increase or reschedule the bus services to Trichy airport. The bus services were scheduled corresponding to the departure and arrival statistics provided by the airport management,” A Muthukrishnan, general manager, TNSTC Trichy told TOI.

Since the new integrated passenger terminal is situated at over 1.2 km from the Trichy-Pudukottai National Highway, the bus services will help passengers board from the arrival lounge instead of walking towards the bus stop situated on the highway.
