C Vijaya Baskar
rescued a road accident victim in Pudukottai district by rushing her in his vehicle to the hospital on Monday.
The victim was identified as S Mary, 46, who is recuperating well in government hospital in Trichy. The incident took place on Sunday, when Vijaya Baskar was heading to Trichy airport from Pudukottai.
When his convoy reached Ilayavayal near Kulathur, he asked to stop after seeing a couple on the road, who had met with an accident.
The couple, who were on a two-wheeler, lost control and fell on the road. Sahayaraj, 50, who was driving the bike escaped with minor injuries. But Mary sustained multiple injuries and her nose was bleeding.
Vijaya Baskar, who is a doctor, examined Mary and administered first aid. Later, he rushed her to Pudukottai government hospital for treatment. Later in the day, she was shifted to Trichy government hospital for further treatment.
It may be noted that in February this year, Vijay Baskar rescued an accident victim and rushed him to hospital in his escort vehicle during his return from a function near Viralimalai in Pudukottai district. The victim Pitchaikannu, who happened to be a DMK functionary, was taken to Trichy government hospital for further treatment.
