Mannarpuram bus shelter work begins

Trichy: MP Durai Vaiko laid the foundation for a new bus shelter along the Trichy-Chennai National Highway in Mannarpuram on Friday.A bus shelter at Mannarpuram has been a long-pending demand of the public. It grew louder after the city bus stand shifted from Sangiliyandapuram (Central bus stand) to Panjapur.In Sept 2025, Durai Vaiko took the steps to build a passenger shelter using the Member of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) funds. He followed up by writing to the regional officer of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Trichy city corporation commissioner, formally seeking administrative approvals and required arrangements. Recently, all approvals were secured.
