Man pushes body of mother in wheelchair

Trichy: In a poignant incident, a man aged about 45 years performed the funeral rites of his mother by taking her dead body in a wheelchair due to her skin disease.
P Muruganandham from Bharathiyar Nagar in Manapparai took the dead body of his mother P Rajalakshmi, 74 in a wheelchair to the crematorium and performed the final rites.
Rajalakshmi’s husband Periyasamy was unwell.
Sources said that Rajalakshmi was down with skin disease and her unmarried son Muruganandham was taking care of her in a house. She died early on Thursday morning.
Muruganandham assumed that people in the area may not join him in the funeral due to his mother’s skin disease.
So, he covered the body with a cloth and placed the body in a wheel chair.
She pushed the wheelchair to the crematorium three kilometres away and cremated the body.
