Trichy: Tamil Literature Society (TLS) celebrated its platinum jubilee at St Joseph's College in Trichy on Monday. Students and research scholars who contributed to Tamil development were felicitated by Rev Bishop Peter Remegius.
Founded in 1948 in Tuticorin by Xavier Thaninnayagam Adigal, a Sri Lankan Catholic priest, the society later moved to Trichy in 1971 to facilitate easy access for the people and promote Catholic literature.
