Govt schoolteacher faces heat after dancing at AIADMK event
Trichy: Weeks after a govt school headmistress from Thanjavur district faced music for dancing to a Vijay song, another video of a special schoolteacher for disabled students from Pudukkottai’s Viralimai has gone viral on social media.Sources said Rajesh Kannan (52) dancing in an AIADMK event in Viralimalai constituency from where three-time MLA and ex-minister C Vijayabaskar is contesting, went viral on Thursday, prompting action.
“A notice has been issued seeking explanation from the teacher who is on temporary posting. We have also raised it with state authorities for necessary action,” a senior district education officer said. In the video, he can be seen donning AIADMK shall and dancing along with AIADMK supporters. Meanwhile, a complaint has also been filed with the returning officer by the DMK alleging that he has been coming to Viralimalai regularly for ‘political work’.This comes weeks after a similar incident happened in Thanjavur, where a 58 year old HM in a school in Thanjavur district was seen dancing to actor-turned politician Vijay’s song in a TVK party event. During the event held near Orathanadu, Krishnaveni danced to the song ‘Kodampakkam area' from the 2005 movie Sivakasi, in which TVK president Vijay had acted. She was subsequently suspended.
