Gang booked for blackmail with sex video

Trichy: Trichy district police on Tuesday booked a nine-member gang for blackmailing a 27-year-old man with a video of his homosexual encounter with one of them.
Manapparai police registered a case against M Leo Plaid, 25, of Laxmi Narayana Nagar, his accomplices Arun, Senthil, Yuvaraj, Arivu, Riyaz and three others on charges of threatening the man from Manapparai.
On Monday evening, the man, an IT employee, made sexual advances at Arivu when both were was travelling on a bus.
Arivu took him to Manapparai pond at Sandhiyagupuram around 7.30 pm. As informed by Arivu, his accomplice Riyaz and others were present at the spot. The IT employee and Riyaz engaged in a homosexual act while the others captured it on their mobile phones.
Soon after the incident, the gang demanded `75,000 from the IT employee failing which they threatened to spread the video through social media. Out of fear and ignominy, he immediately sent the amount to them through UPI transfer.
On Tuesday, he took up the issue with Manapparai police. Sub-inspector Pradeep investigated the case and identified six of the accused.
Police managed to arrest Leo Plaid while the others are absconding. Police said they are on the lookout for the others.
