DMK candidates slam Ramadoss for his remark on Paarivendhar

PERAMBALUR: In a stinging blow-for-blow election campaign, three DMK candidates on Friday levelled blistering charges against PMK chief Dr S Ramadoss, in apparent reply to his alleged put-down of Paarivendhar’, in Perambalur.

The three candidates of DMK front– IJK’s TR Paarivendhar (Perambalur), VCK’s Thol Thirumavalavan (Chidambaram) and DMK’s A Raja (Nilgiris) – were all on stage on Friday, verbally tearing up Ramadoss for his ‘damning’ remark.

“Ramadoss has spewed venom against Paarivendhar who built a career on hard work and determination. He is determined on serving society. He joined hands with DMK, taking his career to next level to serve people. Did we insult Ramadoss for allying with Narendra Modi who was a tea vendor?” Thirumavalavan asked in reference to Ramadoss’s calling Paarivendhar a clerk-turned-millionaire.

Thirumavalavan went on saying Paarivendhar and Raja would be made Union ministers if Rahul Gandhi becomes prime minister. Raja alleged that survival of Ramadoss and his son Dr Anbumani Ramadoss was based on communal politics.

“Paarivendhar is guiding education sector onto top. I am functioning without any communal identity. I just want to know whether Ramadoss has any concern for society or if Anbumani has contributed anything to Dharmapuri constituency,” Raja said, alleging that BJP was hell-bent on destabilising Hindu-Muslim harmony. Paarivendhar said that the family of Kaaduvetti Guru was working against Ramadoss. He had declared his alliance with BJP in 2014 and termed it a mistake. “AIADMK had said that I will lose my deposit. That did not happen even though I was on the wrong side in 2014 in

Lok Sabha

elections in Peramablur. PMK will face a debacle in all its seven constituencies,” he said.
