Trichy: A consultative meeting under ‘En Oor En Kanavu' scheme took place in Trichy on Saturday, bringing together inputs from a range of stakeholders. The district administration is now working on a comprehensive ‘Vision Plan 2030' to guide the district's future development.School education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi inaugurated the event held at Kalaiarangam, which was chaired by district collector V. Saravanan. Elected representatives, officials from various govt departments, subject matter experts, college professors, sectoral practitioners, and distinguished achievers from various fields took part in the discussions.

Participants shared their views on key areas including industrial development, social and community development, economic progress, and environment and climate change. Sources said they examined the opportunities, challenges, and potential solutions for Trichy district's growth, while also proposing innovative and special schemes to advance the district's overall progress.In 2022, the district administration led by then collector M Pradeep Kumar had prepared a document titled ‘Vision Trichy,' which outlined goals to enhance drinking water supply, road infrastructure, and solid waste management in the city and other local bodies.
It served as a practical guide for formulating new schemes and projects aimed at improving basic amenities and public infrastructure. In Vision Plan 2030, the administration is updating that vision by incorporating recent changes and emerging requirements as part of the state govt's ‘En Oor En Kanavu' scheme.Opinions and suggestions gathered from experts are now being compiled. The district administration stated that the final document, running into about 100 pages, will be submitted to the govt next week. The vision document will form the basis for planning and implementing the district's development initiatives in the coming four years, officials added.
