R Rajasekar on charges of criminal breach of trust, having sexual affair by deceiving her, criminal intimidation and abetment of suicide based on a complaint from the woman employed with the Tamil Nadu special police battalion, Trichy on Sunday.

In her complaint, Rajasekar and she were in a relationship. On September 29, he tied a mangalsutra on her after which he convinced her to engage in sexual relationship. The woman said that they had consensual sex with each other as she was made to believe that she was his wife since he had tied the thali. Later, as she insisted on registering their marriage, he took all the documents but did not take any step towards the registration.

As she stood firm on her demand, Rajasekar told her that he married her secretly only to have sexual relationship with her. The woman also alleged that Rajasekar ignored her saying that since she was a Muslim, he, as a Hindu won’t legally accept her as his wife. He began to avoid her and also threatened to indulge in character assassination if she persisted with her demand. Rajasekar also took his cousin and sister-in-law to threaten the woman. They intimidated her to stay off his life by committing suicide. The dejected woman consumed rat poison on November 8. She recovered after the treatment and lodged a complaint with the police on November 24.
