Conference on rainwater harvesting

Trichy: Sadhguru's Cauvery Calling movement will hold a conference on promoting rainwater harvesting at SRM Medical College Hospital in Trichy on Mar 22. The conference aims to empower communities, farmers, and households with practical knowledge to tackle water stress, movement coordinator Tamilmaran told reporters. Experts in water management and conservation will address the conference titled ‘Van Amirtham.' It will offer detailed training and practical hands-on demonstrations for effectively capturing and storing rainwater in homes and agricultural fields.Experts will provide insights into Tamil Nadu's groundwater challenges and outline potential long-term solutions, along with modern techniques for sustainable water management in agriculture. There will be live demonstrations of household rainwater storage systems built for year-round use, and successful case studies showing how rainwater harvesting can revive depleted borewells in dry regions. Prior registration is mandatory for participants.
