Class 7 student falls and dies while flying kite
Trichy: A 12-year-old boy died after falling from a building while flying a kite near Thillai Nagar on Sunday evening. Police have registered a case in connection with the incident.The deceased has been identified as Mohamed Rafiq Farid, a Class 7 student residing on Zahir Hussain Street near Anna Nagar in Trichy. His father, Riyaz Ahamed, is an autorickshaw driver.

According to sources, Farid was enjoying his holiday by flying kites on Sunday afternoon. He climbed to the second floor of his neighbour Sekar's house for the flight. While engaged in the activity, he suddenly lost his balance and fell to the ground.Farid sustained a severe injury to the back of his head in the fall. He was immediately taken to Trichy govt hospital for emergency medical care. Doctors declared him dead on arrival.Thillai Nagar Police registered a case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on a complaint from Ahamed.An autopsy was performed at the hospital and Farid's body was handed over to the family members on Monday.
