CII Trichy zone to promote women entrepreneurs
Trichy: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Trichy zone, launched Indian Women Network (IWN), a dedicated vertical to empower women entrepreneurs and support women professionals through mentorship, networking, skill development, and policy advocacy. CII also appointed a new chairman and a vice-chairman during the annual session held on Friday night.CII members said that IWN shall focus on helping women entrepreneurs, professionals, and students overcome challenges and achieve in their business ventures to generate employment opportunities. Making the industrial and entrepreneurial environment conducive for women to pitch their business ideas and scale up their existing business models is a key objective of the initiative, CII Trichy said.R Bhargavi of MPR Foods and Yamini Karthikeyan of Velmurugan Heavy Engineering Industries were appointed as convenor and co-convenor of IWN. "The network will transform both the professional and personal journeys of women entrepreneurs, fostering leadership skills," Yamini said.Earlier, V Sivaramakrishnan, founder, Sri Velavan Agro, was appointed as chairman of CII Trichy zone for the year 2026-27. He was engaged in the manufacturing and export of value-added millet and food products. S Anand, managing partner, Jeyam Builders, was appointed as the vice-chairman. He served as chairman of the Credai Trichy chapter and state secretary of Credai Tamil Nadu.
