BHEL Trichy unit bags basketball title

Trichy: BHEL Trichy men’s team has clinched the all-India BHEL inter-unit basketball championship title after beating Ranipet team in the finals held at the indoor auditorium in the Trichy complex on Saturday. BHEL Bengaluru unit bagged the overall team championship in the all-India inter-unit table tennis championship.
At the valedictory function organised for both tournaments, S M Ramanathan, general manager (operations), BHEL Trichy, gave away prizes to the winners.
“Inter-unit sports events play an important role in improving a sense of bonding among employees from different units,” Ramanathan added. A total of 139 players from fifteen teams, representing various units of BHEL across the country like Bengaluru, Bhopal, Delhi, Haridwar, Hyderabad, Jhansi and Ranipet in addition to the host Trichy took part in the three-day basketball event.
