Bar, lounge for business class flyers at Trichy airport soon

will soon have a place to relax while they wait to board their flights. A new

bar

and buffet in a new lounge will be established for executive class passengers for which tender has been awarded to a private player. The work is likely to be completed soon and inauguration of the facility may take place by December, said airport officials.


The new lounge is to be set up on the first floor of the terminal building, which would entertain around 40 passengers at a time, airport director K Gunasekaran said. Passengers flying business class of any flight will be allowed to enter the lounge after they check in. The permission entitles the passenger to spend time at the lounge and avail of facilities such as bar and buffet, he said. At present, there is no lounge for business class passengers to spend their time at the airport.

A private player called Golden Chariot Hospitality Services Private Limited has been awarded the tender for maintaining the lounge, Gunasekaran said. “They will commence their work within 15 to 20 days,” he added. The service provider would pay Rs 2 lakh per month to the Airports Authority of Trichy for utilizing the space, he added.

Golden Chariot Hospitality Services Private Limited is a hospitality firm catering to India with its variety of brands like Golden Chariot Fine Dine, Brass Monkey Pub and Lounge and so on. They have plans to cater to the new variety concept restaurants across the nation including airports, a senior official from the airport said.
