AMMK, MDMK cadres booked for MCC violation

TRICHY: Based on a complaint filed by flying squad officials, Woraiyur police have registered cases against

AMMK

and DMDK cadres for violating the model code of conduct (MCC).


According to the police, AMMK headed by TTV Dhinakaran opened an office for election related work at Nawab Thottam in Woraiyur without getting prior permission from the returning officer. The complaint was lodged by the flying squad tahsildar attached to Trichy West assembly constituency Malar.

Woraiyur police asked the party cadre to dismantle the office and bookedthem under section 4A1(a) read with 4B of TNOPPD Act, 1959, police said.

Similarly, DMDK party members were booked for fixing their party flag along Woraiyur main road without getting permission from the returning officer. Based on a complaint lodged by an inspector of statistics department and static surveillance team for Trichy West, Woraiyur police registered a case against MDMK party members for violating the model code of conduct on April 6. Further enquiries are on, police said.
