AIADMK is on the decline: Divakaran
Trichy: AIADMK is on the declining path after the party’s legislators demanded an end to its dual leadership, said V K Divakaran, general secretary of Anna Dravidar Kazhagam. Addressing cadres at a function organized to celebrate the first anniversary of his party at Tiruvarur on Monday, Divakaran said that the collaboration between Edappadi K Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam would not last any longer.
“The alliance forged against the principles of the late leader J Jayalalithaa was the main reason for the AIADMK biting the dust in the general elections,” he said. The party had also given seats to the kith and kin of ministers all of whom were defeated, he added. Addressing the gathering, Divakaran’s son and the party’s state youth secretary D Jai Anand said that the AIADMK was left confused for about a year and a half and its vote share had dipped. The party would be fading away just like the Congress in Tamil Nadu after Kamaraj, he said. Earlier, Divakaran and Jai Anand garlanded the statues of C N Annadurai, M G Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa.
