Actor’s driver dies in accident while changing tyre on NH

Trichy: A driver of a Tamil television actress was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near Perambalur district in the early hours of Monday. The actress's assistant was injured and admitted to the hospital for treatment. The actress escaped unhurt.The deceased was identified as D Muthuganesh, 38, from Chennai. The injured person is B Divakar, 46, from Bodinayakanur in Theni district.According to police sources, A Devipriya. 47, from Chennai, was travelling from Chennai to Theni district in the early hours of Monday, along with her assistant Divakar. The car was driven by Muthuganesh.When the car approached Irur on the Chennai-Trichy national highway, the car suffered a tyre puncture. Devipriya was standing by the roadside while Muthuganesh and Divakar were changing the tyre. Suddenly, an unidentified vehicle coming from behind rammed their car.Muthuganesh sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. Divakar sustained severe injuries, and the car was damaged. Padalur police rushed to the scene, rescued the injured person and admitted him to the Perambalur govt hospital for treatment. The body of the deceased was also sent to the hospital for autopsy. Police registered a case under sections modified as sections 281 (rash driving), 106(1) (causing death by negligence), and 125 (endangering life) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
