8.5kg ganja seized in Trichy Junction

Trichy: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel at Trichy Junction railway station seized 8.5kg of ganja abandoned near a platform on Sunday. The seized contraband was valued at 4.2 lakh. RPF said that a special team was monitoring the election model code of conduct at Trichy Junction on platform No. 5. At around 2.25am, soon after the Purulia-Tirunelveli superfast train (train number 22605) left the junction, the RPF team spotted a dark blue shoulder bag abandoned near an escalator adjacent to the platform. On examining the bag, RPF found four wrapped bundles of dry ganja weighing 8.5kg.
