2 schoolgirls drown

Trichy: Two school girls drowned in a tank near Manachanallur town in Trichy on Sunday. The deceased are B Sathya, 13, and V Kanishka, 14, of Sengudi street in Thiruvellarai. The girls were in class VII and class VIII at Thiruvellarai Government High School. On Sunday, the girls went to Singakulam tank in Thiruvellaarai for a leisure dip where other villagers were also bathing.As the two girls went missing, the villagers searched the tank and fished out the girls from the water in an unconscious state. Manachanallur police registered a case.
