Youths killed as bike rams truck

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two youths died after the motorbike they were riding rammed a truck from behind at Kowdiar on Saturday night.
The deceased have been identified as Akhil (20), son of Jayakumar and Sheela, of Karthika, Enikkara, Karakulam and Nithin Raj (20), son of Rajan and Rachel, of Karakulam.
City traffic police said the accident occurred around 11pm near Narmada at Kowdiar toll junction.Akhil, who was working with a car dealership firm, was speeding on his bike when the truck that was moving in front stopped suddenly, which led to the accident.
Akhil and the pillion rider Nithin Raj were thrown off the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. Akhil died on the spot while Nithin succumbed to his injuries at 1.10 am at Medical College Hospital on Sunday.
The truck was taken into custody and a case has been registered against the driver. The bodies were handed over to the relatives after conducting autopsy.
