Woman's body in plantation: Police confirm murder

T'PURAM: Kattakada police have confirmed that the death of 35-year-old Maya Murali, whose body was discovered in a rubber plantation two days ago, was a murder.
The prime suspect in the case is her living partner, Renjith, 31, who is currently on the run.
Maya's body was found by a rubber farmer at Muthiyavila near Kattakada, close to her rented home. The absence of visible wounds initially puzzled the authorities, but further investigation revealed foul play.. According to police, an altercation between Maya and Renjith led to her being strangled and beaten , resulting in her death. Efforts are ongoing to locate Renjith.
