Woman's body in plantation: Police confirm murder

T'PURAM: Kattakada police have confirmed that the death of 35-year-old Maya Murali, whose body was discovered in a rubber plantation two days ago, was a murder.

The prime suspect in the case is her living partner, Renjith, 31, who is currently on the run.

Maya's body was found by a rubber farmer at Muthiyavila near Kattakada, close to her rented home. The absence of visible wounds initially puzzled the authorities, but further investigation revealed foul play. . According to police, an altercation between Maya and Renjith led to her being strangled and beaten , resulting in her death. Efforts are ongoing to locate Renjith.
