Woman injured in machete attack by husband over police complaint
Thiruvananthapuram: A 51-year-old woman was hacked with a machete by her husband after he barged into her house for filing a police complaint against him.
Lousha of Ashram Veedu at Idathara near Chempazhanthy was seriously injured in the attack. Her daughter, Sreelekshmi, was also hurt in the incident when she tried to protect her mother.
The accused, Jayakumaran Nair, 61, had been living separately following a previous assault on his wife and daughter over a financial dispute, which led Lousha to report him to the women's police cell and the Kazhakootam police station.

On Friday night, Nair broke into their house with the intention of killing Lousha in retaliation for the complaint she had filed against him., police sad.
Hearing their cries for help, neighbours rushed to the scene, prompting Nair to flee.
The Kazhakootam police have launched an intensive search for Nair and have registered a case against him under several Sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including 115(2) for voluntarily causing hurt, 118(1) and 118(2) for voluntarily causing grievous hurt and using a weapon, 109 for attempt to murder, 126(1) for wrongful restraint, and under section 31 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act-2005.
