THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: M P Veerendra Kumar was elected as the state president of Socialist Janata at the party state council held here on Tuesday.
A senior socialist leader and writer, Veerendra Kumar entered politics through Socialist Yuvajana Sabha.
According to a statement from party state returning officer
Thomas Mathew here on Wednesday, Veerendra Kumar was elected unanimously by the 140-member council.
The council also elected a 26 executive committee. Agriculture minister K P Mohanan, M V Sreyams Kumar MLA are among those prominent Socialist Janata leaders who were elected to the general section of the committee.
Election of executive committee members representing reserved sections was held at the Nandavanam Muslim Association Hall here on Wednesday.
