Under-18 tennis championship

Thiruvananthapuram: The first edition of ‘Sharat Kumar Nambiar Memorial TTC-All-India Tennis Association (AITA) Championship Series’ for under-18 boys and girls will begin at the Trivandrum Tennis Club (TTC) here on April 25.
V K Prasanth, MLA, will inaugurate the five-day tournament at TTC courts at 5 pm.
The tournament, which concludes on April 29, is sponsored by Sharat Kumar Nambiar Foundation, set up by Anand Kumar and Rajeswari Prasad in memory of their only son who passed away in a road accident in Dubai two years ago.
Top ranking players from across the country will compete in the championship. Winners will get prize money, trophies and certificates, said R Jayprakash, honorary secretary, TTC. TNN
