THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 39-year-old man was killed after the truck which he was driving overturned while negotiating a curve at Kalayanad in Kollam on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Ganeshan, son of Izaki of Anna Nagar, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.
He came to Kerala in a truck, numbered TN-48 AV- 5199, carrying cement for delivery in Kollam.
Police said Ganeshan lost control of the vehicle while overtaking another vehicle in the turning and the vehicle overturned in a slope on the other side of the road.
Hearing a huge noise, people in the vicinity rushed to the spot and took the driver out. He was soon rushed to Punalur Taluk Hospital, but his life could not be saved.
The body of Ganeshan is kept at the mortuary of the hospital and his relatives have been informed.
Punalur police have registered a case under Section 306 (1) (c) (MA) of the Police Stand Order for motor occurrence.
