THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Traffic restrictions would be in place in the city on Friday and Saturday in view of the visit of Union home minister Amit Shah and the chief ministers of various other states.
Parking will not be allowed on roads from Shanghumugham till Chacka and from Chacka till Kovalam beach. On Saturday, parking of vehicles will be restricted from Kovalam beach to Kazhakkoottam VettuRoad, Chacka to Shanghumugham and from Enjakkal to Padmanabha Swamy Temple, a statement from city police commissioner Sparjan Kumar stated.

From 6pm to 8pm on Friday, motorists should take diversion from Kazhakkoottam towards Sreekaryam, Ulloor, Pattom, Thampanoor, Killipala, Pappanamkode and Pallichal to reach Vizhinjam.
Those who want to reach Kovalam-Kazhakkoottam bypass road must travel through Vizhinjam, Pallichal, Pappanamkode, Killipalam, Thampanoor, Pattom, Ulloor and Sreekaryam route.
To reach Pettah bypass from Shanghumugham, people must use Vettukadu and Veli bypass road. To reach Shanghumugham from Pettah, people have to travel via Venpalavattom, Veli and Vettukadu.
