Tharoor invincible in Thiruvananthapuram seat: BJP leader O Rajagopal
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Senior BJP leader O Rajagopal here on Monday said Shashi Tharoor has won the hearts of voters of Thiruvananthapuram and it would be very hard for anyone to beat him in the constituency.
Rajagopal who belongs to Palakkad said Tharoor who is also a native of Palakkad could successfully influence the minds of people in Thiruvananthapuram. Rajagopal said he wished people in Thiruvananthapuram continue to get the service of Tharoor. He was speaking at a function in which Congress leader D K Sivakumar presented N Ramachandran Memorial award to Sashi Tharoor.
It's not the first time that Rajagopal put the BJP leadership in trouble by cosying up to political adversaries. Recently, the 95 year old O Rajagopal praised the Keraleeyam programme of the LDF government. He had openly expressed doubts over the possibility of Kummanan Rajasekharan when he contested in the Nemom Assembly seat, from where Rajagopal had won earlier. He also put the BJP in trouble by expressing views contradictory to that of BJP in the state assembly when he was Nemom MLA.
