Pillai, who expressed strong discontent over the LDF denying the Thiruvananthapuram seat to Kerala Congress (Scaria Thomas), said he and his followers would work for any democratic political force that was ready to accommodate them.
The Janata Dal (U) is expected to announce Pillai's candidature in Nemom after the party meeting on April 5. Pillai has already held discussions with JD(U) state president M P Veerendra Kumar and the announcement could just be a formality. Meanwhile, KC (S) chairman Scaria Thomas said it was nothing but the denial of assembly seat that prompted Pillai to leave the party. "He has no other reason to cite, other than the denial of assembly seat. He has taken the wrong decision at the wrong time," he said.
