In his Facebook post, the CM said may the occasion be an inspiration for everyone to fight against all kinds of inequities. He said that believers are considering the concept of Sree Krishna as restoration of virtue against inequities. The occasion also symbolises compassion and care. Let this occasion of Sree Krishna Jayanti reinforce the message of spreading love and happiness in the society, he said.

Of late, CPM and its leaders have been deviating from its earlier pursued ideological stand to celebrate festivals and rituals. Last week, CPM leader P Jayarajan had urged voluntary organisations attached to the CPM to help believers conduct Bali Tharpanam (offerings to the dead) on the day of Karkkidaka Vavu.

The party had also conducted parallel Sree Krishna Jayanthi celebrations in the recent past to counter the celebrations organised by Balagokulam, a feeder organisation of the RSS.
