Thiruvananthapuram: The prosecution handling the Sharon Raj murder case presented digital evidence at the court that the accused Greeshma had conducted online searches regarding the effect of paraquat herbicide on humans shortly before committing the crime.The evidence was presented at the Neyyattinkara Additional Sessions during the trial that started on Oct 15.Greeshma gave Sharon the juice at 10:30am on Oct 10, 2022, after inviting him to her house. Three hours before that, Greeshma had conducted an online search about the pesticide. After confirming this, the herbicide was given to Sharon with the intention to kill him, the prosecution claimed.The head of the general medicine department at the medical college hospital Dr Aruna, told the court that 15 ml of the herbicide is enough to kill a man. Sharon was treated for days at the hospital, but his life could not be saved.In Aug 2022, the accused had tried to kill Sharon by mixing paracetamol tablets in juice. The prosecution also stated that prior to the incident, the accused had searched online to understand the consequences of consuming excessive paracetamol tablets. Police presented the digital evidence in this regard as well before the court.The digital evidence from the mobile phones of Sharon and Greeshma were collected in the presence of tahasiladar Noushad.
