THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The parents of
Shari, the teenaged girl who died after being caught in a sex racket five years ago, on Friday staged a protest before Cliff House, chief minister's official residence, demanding that the culprits behind her death be brought to book.
The parents, along with Shari's five-year-old girl child tried to stage a dharna in front of the residence of chief minister V S Achuthanandan, who had taken up Shari's death as one of the major campaign issues when he was Opposition Leader.
The parents and the child were removed by policebefore they could stage the sit-in, police said.
The death of18-year-old Shari in 2004 after delivering a child had created a storm in Keralaas it was alleged that she was lured into the sex racket at Kiliroor in Kottayamby some people offering her roles in teleserials andfilms.
