executive committee member K Sudarshanan Pillai died of heart attack at the
Varkala
Taluk Hospital here on Monday. He was 66.
Sudarshanan Pillai is survived by his wife Prema, retired principal, Government College, Attingal, son
Vineeth and daughter-in-law Reshma.
Sudarshan Pillai began his political career as an active member of KSU and youth congress, eventually becoming a prominent congress leader at Varkala. He contested in Varkala municipality election in 2010 and won from
Perumkulam
ward and was elected as the chairman of Varkala municipality.
KPCC president V M Sudheeran condoled the death of Sudarshanan Pillai. "His demise is a great loss to the congress party. He played a key role in strengthening the party in Thiruvananthapuram. His stint as the municipal chairman would be remembered for his selfless service," said Sudheeran.
The cremation will be held at Santhi Kavadom, Thycaud on Tuesday at 12 noon.
