Thiruvananthapuram: Balaramapuram police have launched a hunt for three men, who allegedly waylaid and attacked a 28-year-old youth at Peringamala on Saturday night. Police identified the suspects as Saji, Chandru and Kannan.
Police said the trio allegedly attacked Vignesh of Peringamala using a sword at Peringamala junction around 8.15pm. Vignesh suffered a deep cut on his head after being hacked by the sword.
Balaramapuram sub-inspector P Vijayakumar said that the attack was the fallout of a motor vehicle accident in which Vignesh and the suspects were involved earlier. The bike which Vignesh and his friend travelling had collided with the bike of suspects at Vedivechankovil near Balaramapuram. This made way for a spat between the two groups, the SI said.
Vignesh worked as a supervisor in a hotel located at Thampanoor. He is currently admitted to Govt Taluk Hospital, Neyyattinkara.
