THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The KPCC election committee on Sunday authorised Chief Minister AK Antony and KPCC president Muraleedharan to submit a list of nominees to be considered for the two of the three Rajya Sabha seats the ruling front is capable of winning in the elections to be held next month.
The chief minister and the KPCC president would apprise the high command of their views, KPCC sources here said.
A decision on the nominees would be announced by the High Command by Wednesday, they said.
The vacancies had been caused by the retirement of CO Poulose, S Ramachandran Pillai (CPI-M) and J Chitharanjan (CPI). Going by the strength in the assembly, the ruling UDF can win two seats and the LDF one.
The CPI-M had decided to nominate CITU leader K Chandran Pillai as the party''s candidate.
